Emeritus Professor, Asiwaju is a Founding Member, Board of Trustees of SIRA, born on April 27, 1939 in Imeko, Ogun State, Nigeria. He holds Bachelor and PhD degrees in History of the University of Ibadan. An Emeritus Professor, Comparative African and borderland studies, he is Nigeria’s preeminent borderland scholar and a prolific author on border security both in Nigeria and internationally. Among his numerous achievements are Emeritus Professor of history University of Lagos; President, African Regional Institute, Imeko; Member of the Federal Republic (MFR); and Fellow, Historical Society of Nigeria.
